Education Ponzie Scheme

“Around New York, administrators, teachers and parents have protested Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s proposal to tie teacher evaluations more closely to student test scores.”
Student grades do not measure the student experience. Students want to learn what they find interesting not what government thinks they should be learning. If a student is inspired in their passions they will get to the needed tools when a reason arrives not when child development theory wants them to learn something. Teachers are handicapped by long obsolete theories that have failed, but the PhD which are nothing more that professional student trained for a job security, have forced on the education system and those that work in the field. It is the student that is the customer and has the biggest stake in their education not teachers or administrators.

The government is looking for an easy lazy way of spending money but it has not spent money wisely. The corruption of handing over billions to people that buy favors is not a good system to help young people get prepared for the future. Government does not want to address the problems in the ponzie scheme they are running as we all wait for it to collapse.

Our children are going to be the biggest losers in the game.

State Board of Education gutted

The Mississippi House has gutted the State Board of Education.  The House passed a proposal, offered by House Education Chairman, John Moore (R) from Brandon, that allows lawmakers to do an end run around the State Board of Education.  The State Board of Education is a requirement of our State Constitution.  The proposal, passed with support of the TEA Party,  forces the EDUCATORS on the Board of Education to accept the recommendations of the POLITICIANS on the House Education Commission.

Imagine your child is on the operating table and the surgeon is about to begin a lifesaving operation.  However, the operation comes to a halt when Governor Bryant and the rest of the republican TEA Party in Mississippi announce that they are going to change the standards of medical care and procedures.  Would you allow POLITICIANS to set the rules and standards for the MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS caring for your child? Of course you would not accept that.

This is why you should not allow the Republican “experts” on education tell our teachers and education professionals how to do their jobs.  We should not tolerate phoney commissions of TEA Party Republican politicos who ignore our Constitutionally mandated and protected Board of Education.  It is time for a change in Jackson.

…Perhaps the reason you having trouble is you forgot the purpose of reading. It’s not just for fun. Human beings have been recording their knowledge in book form for more than 5,000 years. That means that whatever you’re working on right now, whatever problem you’re struggling with, is probably addressed in some book somewhere by someone a lot smarter than you.

To quote the great Dr. Seuss: “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
