Pick or Choose?

Most educational systems are designed by psychological standards to measure efficient use of money. The problem is education has gotten more and more costly due to standard regulations. What is the purpose of education in the first place? To produce consumer/workers? What is happiness?

I suspect that a system that is measured and designed to limit choice has made life simpler. Children only have to know the correct answer out of five choices rather than an infinite picks that life really offers. Do we spend time trying to find the best pick or do we make a quick choice that is just mediocre? The difference between being good enough and being great is how much you say “No”.
