Science /Philosophy Evolution is a product of mutations. Some humans strive for success no matter how crazy the goal is they are working on. I suspect this is an inborn biological trait of survival. In today’s world of unequal power many poor ideas are pushed to be enacted and end up doing more harm than good. In the big long term picture bad ideas die and the good ones continue. But nature has no compassion or empathy for all those hurt by these bad enacted ideas. Virtue is a honed behavior which depends on wisdom and knowledge before acting on bad ideas. Is humanity’s goal to bring world wide virtue? Today is a day to think about it.

Would we choose to live forever if we could? Does death render life meaningless? If we examine it in the context of the immensity of the whole universe, can we consider life meaningful? If we feel empty once we achieve our goals, and the pursuit of these goals is what gives us a sense of meaning, then what can we do?
